R. C. Bechtel, the company's founder began operations in Blackwell, Oklahoma with 1 well service rig operating in northern Oklahoma and southern Kansas. Mr. Bechtel continues in day to day operations as President and Chief Executive Officer.

From 1970 to 1986 the company grew to 17 rigs. In 1985 operations were expanded to the Enid, Oklahoma area. From 1988 through 1998, the company continued to grow and expand to other locations in Oklahoma.
